It’s all sunny and nice so everyone has a big old sing. Dude tries to get off with a girl, another dude thinks about selling his shop. There’s a sad bit, but everyone gets over that by having another big old sing. At the end, it’s all nice and sunny, so everyone decides everything’s fine and has another big sing.

Trivia

The original script would only have filled 39 minutes of film, so a panicked Lin-Manuel Miranda put in a number of songs to pad it out.

Jimmy Smits can’t sing, so he mimed along to vocals provided by none other than Pierce Brosnan.

It was filmed entirely in Bolton, and sunshine was added digitally in post-production.

A subplot about the American War of Independence was cut and would later form the story of ‘Hamilton.’
