Following the huge success of Three Billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri, producers have announced that a sequel will be released in 2019.
“We can confirm that Three Billboards sequel Four Billboards will be coming next year,” said producer Sam Francis.
“Its terrific that the picture was such a success as now we can really expand the scope of the story by, well, 25%.”
Mr Francis was unable to give any plot details for the sequel.
“No, but I can confirm that the forth billboard will play a critical role and won’t just be there to advertise some nice cakes or anything.”
You know, I’m not sure this is working. The whole ‘Four Billboards’ thing? It sounds like the sort of joke your dad would make after an extra glass of wine over a Sunday big chicken doesn’t it? Thing is though, I’ve come this far now so it seems a shame to stop.
Right, sod it, I’ll do a punchline and if it works then everyone’s a winner. If not, you can just crack on to the next article which’ll probably be about Star Wars or superheroes and everyone likes those ones, then we can put the whole ‘Four Billboards’ nightmare behind us.
It is expected that should Four Billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri be a success then it will be followed by Five Billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri and then, some years later by a series of disappointing prequels that let everyone down.
Well, I think that punchline went better than anyone had a right to expect. The Star Wars reference and everything. Pleased I stuck with it now.
